Ingredients

  • 3 cups instant flour
  • 1/2 cup chilled unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup chilled solid vegetable shortening, cut into 4 pcs.
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup ice water

For crust

  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tbsps. chilled butter
  • 1/4 cup ice water or cold apple cider

For filling

  • 8 Mcintosh apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 2/3 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsps. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

For topping

Turkey

  • 1 14 1/2-ounce can low-salt chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme or 1/2 tsp. dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh sage or 1/4 tsp. dried

Gravy

  • 1 14 1/2-ounce can low-salt chicken broth

For Serving

  • Country Sausage and Sage Dressing
  • Cranberry Relish

Directions

  1. Step 1 In a food processor using on/off turns, blend 1 1/2 cups instant flour, 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup shortening, and 1/4 teaspoon salt until mixture is crumbly and pieces of butter and shortening are the size of small peas.
