Spicy steel-cut oatmeal with garlic chips with raw steel-cut oats, olive oil, cloves garlic, very thinly sliced, tamari, chinese chile paste to taste, scallions, thinly sliced on a bias, chopped fresh cilantro.

  • 2 tbsps. olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, very thinly sliced
  • About 1 tbsp. tamari
  • Chinese chile paste to taste
  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced on a bias
  • 2 tbsps. chopped fresh cilantro

Zucchini Rub

  • 1 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin

  • 1 lb. halibut, fillets cut into 1-inch cubes

Directions

  1. Step 1 In a heavy 1 1/2- to 2-quart (1.4- to 2-L) saucepan, combine the oats and 2 cups (480 ml) water. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until creamy and tender, about 25 minutes.
