Thanksgiving cupcakes with water, cocoa powder, egg(s) (free range), butter (unsalted), unrefined golden caster sugar, self-raising white flour, baking powder, icing sugar, butter (unsalted), cocoa powder, milk (whole), fan wafer, chocolate sugarpaste, orange sugar paste icing, white sugar paste icing, writing icing. To make this thanksgiving cupcakes for 12 persons you will need 20 mins for preparation and 20 mins for baking.

Ingredients

For the cupcakes

  • 4tbsp Water
  • 40g Cocoa powder
  • 3 Egg(s) (free range)
  • 175g Butter (unsalted)
  • 165g Unrefined golden caster sugar
  • 115g Self-raising white flour
  • 1tsp Baking powder

For the buttercream

  • 300g Icing sugar
  • 100g Butter (unsalted)
  • 40g Cocoa powder
  • 40ml Milk (whole)

For the decoration

  • 12 Fan wafer
  • Chocolate sugarpaste
  • Orange sugar paste icing
  • White sugar paste icing
  • Writing icing

Directions

  1. Step 1Preheat the oven at 200°C (180°C, gas mark 6) and line 12 muffin tins.
  2. Step 2Sift the cocoa powder into a bowl and mix with the boiling water to create a thick paste.

  5. Step 5Bake in a pre-heated oven for 20 minutes until well risen and cooked throughout.

  7. Step 7To make the buttercream, beat the butter until softened and add the icing sugar and cocoa powder.
