  1. Step 1To make the toffee, dissolve the sugar, golden syrup, vinegar and butter in a pan over a medium heat.

  2. Step 2Once the ingredients are fully dissolved, bring the mix to the boil. Cook until the sugar thermometer reaches 148°C which should take approximately 10 minutes.
  3. Step 3While the toffee is cooking, peel the apples and cut into rounds. Use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes of your choice.

  4. Step 4Dip the apple shapes into the lemon juice and dap off any excess with some paper towel.

  5. Step 5Pierce the bottom of each apple shape with a lolly pop stick.
  6. Step 6Once the toffee is cooked, stir in the double cream and dip each shape into the toffee until fully coated. Be careful around the toffee as it can be really hot.
